Alloy 825 mineral insulated heating cables provide solutions for industrial freeze protection & process-temperature maintenance applications in hazardous & non-hazardous locations.

MI is also used where high power output, high exposure temperatures, or extreme resistance to environmental corrosives are needed. MI heating cables can provide up to 82 watts per foot (269 watts per meter) of power output with area classification & design approvals. MI heating cables are constructed & approved for use in non-hazardous & hazardous (classified) areas. The maximum application temperature for heating units is 1022°F (550°C), & the maximum exposure temperature for the heating cable is 1238°F (670°C). Higher temperatures are available by special order.

Power-limiting cables are used for applications requiring high power output or exceed the temperature ranges of self-regulating cables. VPL can be used for freeze protection & process-temperature maintenance requiring high power output and/or high temperature exposure.

VPL can provide process-temperature maintenance up to 455°F (235°C) & can withst& routine steam purges & temperature excursions to 500°F (260°C) with power off. VPL cables are approved for use in non-hazardous & hazardous locations.

An Electric Thermal Storage (ETS) system uses electricity during off-peak hours to heat up & maintain a thermal reservoir at an elevated temperature. The thermal reservoir can then be used as a radiant heating source. The Raychem ETS system uses a self-regulating heating cable to heat up & maintain the thermal reservoir under a building. Once the thermal reservoir has been heated to an elevated temperature, the system will constantly give off heat, yet only periodically require heat to maintain that temperature.
